Digital Mammography

Mammography is a specific type of imaging that uses a low-dose x-ray system to examine breasts. A mammography exam is used to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast diseases in women.

Digital Mammography is a mammography system in which the x-ray film is replaced by solid-state detectors that convert x-rays into electrical signals. These signals are used to produce images of the breast that can be seen on a computer screen. Mammograms are used as a screening tool to detect early breast cancer in women experiencing no symptoms and to detect and diagnose breast disease in women experiencing symptoms such as a lump, pain, or discharge.

Bone Density (DEXA)

Bone Density also called densitometry or DEXA scan determines whether you have osteoporosis or are at risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to become more fragile and more likely to break. A bone density test uses x-rays to measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are packed into a segment of bone. A bone density test is a fairly accurate predictor of your risk of fracture.

SimPlant® Dental Imaging

Toll Gate Radiology is the Master Site in Rhode Island for SimPlant®. SimPlant® implant software is a treatment planning software which will give your dentist three-dimensional information on the anatomy of your mouth including the width and density of your jawbone, the exact location of neighboring tooth roots, and the location of the nerves.

With this precise information, your dentist can start planning the ideal location for your implants, reach the best outcome and show you how your new teeth will look – even before treatment! Your implant dentist can “virtually” prepare your treatment to the greatest detail, and you will receive a much safer and more comfortable treatment. Your gums can often be left intact for faster healing, and it can help to prevent complications.
